Located in Omaha, Nebraska, Scott Data Center (SDC) offers customers more than 110,000 square feet of Tier III facilities to meet your advanced storage and computing needs, regardless of your location. But behind our purpose-built concrete structure, reliable power, top security measures, and best-in-class customer support, all designed to support you, we also strive to support others.
Inspired by the vision of our Founder, Walter Scott Jr., SDC embraces what he called “impact investing”. When approached thoughtfully and strategically, the right investments can provide valuable financial benefits while also having a powerful, constructive effect on the world around us. “Impact investing” involves intentionally making investments that generate positive, measurable results in society, in addition to a financial return. In keeping with this philosophy, the financial returns generated by investment in and growth of SDC business operations support academic scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M) education. In fact, the historical measure of our success has been based on the number of college students that have been supported through our efforts.
Suzanne & Walter Scott
Partnering with our parent organization, the Suzanne & Walter Scott Foundation (the Foundation), we have directly provided funding for hundreds of scholarships since our founding 2002. One of the major programs the Foundation focuses on is investing in the next generation of leaders and empowering youth through higher education, a program from which SDC has directly benefitted: one of our technical leaders was an early beneficiary of the Foundation’s “Scott Scholarship” program and now contributes to customer success and student scholarships through his work on our team.
Hundreds of academic scholarships have been provided by the work we do at Scott Data Center.
Mr. Scott’s vision and philosophy resulted in creating an organization that funds S.T.E.M. scholarships, provides Tier III certified critical infrastructure for public and private organizations, and sets the conditions for college student internship and employment opportunities. Throughout the next year, we will highlight different aspects of our SDC Impact Investing practice through our blog, “Unstoppable”, and share how these choices are helping us exceed YOUR growing and changing business needs while supporting students.
