Fire Control

Fire suppression standard throughout the facility is a double interlocked pre-action dry pipe water suppression system.  The benefits of this system are three-fold:

  • All fire suppression pipes are actually filled with air rather than water. So knocking off a head accidently does not discharge water into the space
  • In the event of fire two events most occur for the system to activate – both smoke and physical fire must be detected
  • Much less costly and harder to accidently setoff than gas systems

If desired, tenants can choose not to use the pre-action dry pipe system and can elect to install their own gas based system.

Access Control

Keeping data safe and secure from unauthorized individuals is another important aspect to data center operations.  To accomplish this, Scott Data Center utilizes a three-layer “defense in depth” approach.  Any security event is received to and responded to via the 24/7 on-site security guard presence with complete monitoring via over IP surveillance based system consisting of over 80 security cameras.
